Walnut Street Residence
This client needed to expand their home to accommodate their growing family and increased work-from-home needs. To do so, we expanded a new volume into the front yard. We matched the existing façade stylistically but extended the new volume into the front yard to indicate that the new volume is apart from the original house. The original construction of the house created interior rooms without access to very much interior light. To resolve this, we added a skylight over the stair, opened walls enclosing the kitchen and reconfigured the Primary Suite bathroom.
As construction commenced and covid set in, the program evolved. As we always do, we worked with the Client and Contractor as the project evolved over time.
